Brothers Jim and Jesse Jeffries with Danny Lute started The Peach Mountain Boys in 1974.  Joined by brothers Bob and Dave Myers in 1975.  After Bob and Dave left the band they were joined by brother Sam Jeffries Jr. on Fiddle and sister Susan Jeffries on Doghouse Bass. They recorded their first album titled "Deep in the Creek" in 1981 with friends John Masters on Banjo and Joey McGinnis on Lead Guitar. In 1983, Susan left the band with John and Joey departing soon after.  Tracy Cassidy joined on Banjo and Jesse switched from Mandolin to Bass. In 1986, this line-up recorded their second album titled "Hometown Souveniers and Heartbreaks", another collection of classic bluegrass music with several originals.  In 1988, back in the studio for thier third album titled "Hand-Picked", with Randy Thomas on Mandolin. In 1996, a tragic accident took the life of Sam Jeffries Jr. an accomplished Fiddle player who had performed with The Peach Mountain Boys as well as The Bluegrass Cardinals, Boys from Indiana, and The Goins Brothers, just to name a few. In 1998, Jim and Jesse recorded their next album titled "A Tribute to Sam", a collection of bluegrass standards and more originals, with Richard Dillow and Dan Kuhn performing on a few tracks. They continued to perform their own style of Bluegrass Music not only as The Peach Mountain Boys, but as a duet. In 2001, they recorded the album titled "Freedom Train", penned by their oldest brother Jeff Jeffries. In 2003, Jim was diagnosed with Leukemia and Type II Diabetes, he continued to perform despite his illness. On May 4th 2007, Jim lost his battle to Cancer. After contemplating disbanding, Jesse realized that Jim would want the band to go on. In May 2009 they released their latest Album titled "Sounds from Peach Mountain" as well as a "35 Year" Anniversary of The Peach Mountain Boys CD. This a double cd with 35 previously recorded songs.
